The road on my chronic pain journey is quite long. I am now 54 years young and have multiple diseases and disorders that cause pain. Here's my "Elevator Speech List": I have Interstitial Cystitis (IC), Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (PFD), Pelvic Pain Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) since diagnosed in 2010 at forty-five year olds. Additionally I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and Excoriation Disorder (Dermatillomania related to anxiety). Now, in 2020, I have been diagnosed with severe Osteoarthritis in both ankles and both feet.
Since June of 2012 I have been on a new path; learning how to take excellent care of myself, decrease my pain and feel joy in my life. I can now call my life "Amazing" and am grateful for everything I have experienced in each moment on this pathway. My whole life I have been a teacher. I taught fitness, nutrition and wellness for over 25 years. I then went on to teach high school science for 5 more years. While I am not physically going to work each day as a "teacher" these days, I am now teaching through my writing and videos. I can teach you how to decrease your pain, how to find relief and how to feel more joy in your life.
Every small step
you take counts.
Inching yourself forward gently is a great way
to travel on this journey.
